透明水彩で弥勒菩薩を描く方法

弥勒菩薩、マイトレーヤ、メッテイヤ、メッテッヤは仏教において、釈迦牟尼仏の次に現われる未来仏であり、大乗仏教では菩薩の一尊です。仏となることを約束されているため、弥勒は音写であり、「慈しみ」を語源とするため、弥勒仏・弥勒如来と呼ばれることもあります。釈迦が亡くなられてから５６億７千万年後に仏となりこの世に現れ、釈迦の教えで救われなかった人々を救済するといわれています。
現在は仏教世界の中央にそびえる須弥山（しゅみせん）の上空にある兜率天（とそつてん）という天界で修行をしています。
