ワシミミズク(Bubo bubo)とは?

ワシミミズク(Bubo bubo)は、鳥綱フクロウ目フクロウ科ワシミミズク属に分類される鳥です。昼は老樹の空洞などに住み、夜活動して小動物を食べます。
全長58 – 71センチメートルくらいで、体長約72cm。翼開長152 – 180センチメートルです。
体重は、1,500 – 1,800グラム、メス1,750 – 4,200グラムとなっています。オス特に雌は大きく、翼の開張180cm、体重4kgに達するものがあります。
羽色は赤みのある黄褐色かクリーム色で、全体に不規則な縞や斑があります。体の色は褐色で、目の虹彩は橙色です。くちばしは鋭く黒い色をしています。そして、足指まで羽毛がある精悍な鳥です。

The eagle owl (Bubo bubo) is a bird classified in the genus Eurasian, in the order Owlidae and the family Owlidae. They live in cavities in old trees during the day and are active at night, eating small animals.
