How to write a kingfisher watercolor.
Kingfishers are gorgeous and colorful birds like their bright blues and oranges. However, if you look closely, you will see a wealth of different hues within these two hue regions as well. The challenge is to bring this bird to life. The point is the eyes that are staring at you in one pattern of shades.

This is the undercoat of a watercolor painting of a kingfisher. I used cobalt turquoise light for the undercoat of the kingfisher. The eyes are undercoated with Paynes Gray. The chest is transparent orange.
